The ANSNA
Malcolm Alexander Teaching Award
The ANSNA Malcolm Alexander Teaching Award is awarded to a person from an Australian research or training institution to acknowledge their significant contribution to teaching and mentoring in social network research in Australia.
Malcolm Alexander has made a significant contribution to social network research in Australia, through his academic career at Griffith University where he taught and supervised PhD students, but especially through his long-term role as an ACSPRI instructor in social network research and analysis.
Malcolm introduced many Australian researchers across academia, government, industry and civil society to their first social network dataset and analytical tools, and also introduced those people he taught to one another. His enthusiasm and generosity in sharing his expertise and knowledge, and his ability to connect people, is recognised by all who have been trained by and researched with him.
